Module description

In this module we focus on the study (both linguistic and literary) of a Greek prose set text (or texts), e.g. Herodotus Histories or Plato Symposium. This is our highest-level module in Greek. While the texts covered change each year, the format and the learning objectives remain the same.

Classes are interactive and translation and commentary of the text (from the linguistic, metrical, historical and socio-cultural perspectives) will occupy us for the most part of the class, but selective secondary reading will also be discussed in the sessions.
