Module description

In this module you will explore the study of psychology for personal development, professional practice and its application across diverse professional contexts. You will consider the application of core psychological principles, enhance your self-awareness, develop a range of practical skills, and learn to apply psychological insights to begin to enhance your personal and professional effectiveness.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • reflect on your own learning experiences and use these reflections to develop strategies to enhance your learning
  • connect psychological theories/knowledge gained during your studies and consider how these are, or might be, applied to your chosen professional field
  • adopt a self-reflective stance towards your own beliefs, assumptions, predispositions and biases and the ways these may influence professional practice
  • critically evaluate research evidence and use this to present your own argument
  • critically evaluate psychological research and its ethical implications in real-world settings.
